What is the Hearing Impaired Web Ear Ring?
The "Hearing Impaired Web Ear Ring" is a better way for people to find hearing related information on the World Wide Web.
The "Hearing Impaired Web Ear Ring" is a system whereby websites that are hearing related are linked together in a continuous closed ring. People can find great hearing related information by surfing from website to website within the ring. The main page of each website in the ring has a graphic and a set of links that allow visitors to go from site to site by clicking on one of the links.
The graphic and links look like this on every site in the "Hearing Impaired Web Ear Ring":

In this way, people now have an alternative to searching in directories or search engines. While search engines and directories definitely have their place; it can be frustrating if you don't know what you're looking for. Even if you do have an idea of what you're searching for, most people hate having to wade through hundreds of thousands of possibilities to find the two or three sites that have the information you need.

|
Audiotech Hearing Impaired Web Ear Ring Agreeement
By submitting your website for inclusion in this web ring you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
- Your webpage and/or website must contain information that is of interest to the hearing impaired community. This could range from a business or association offering specific information about hearing care, hearing education, hearing technology or hearing services or it could also be a personal page about personal hearing loss experiences, etc.
- Your webpage and/or web site must not contain any content (graphics, words or concepts) that are not suitable for a younger viewing audience. Specifically, but not limited to, adult content, pornography, course language, hate material or slander.
- Your webpage and/or website must not have any links to other webpages and/or websites that contain content not suitable for a younger viewing audience. Specifically, but not limited to, adult content, pornography, course language, hate material or slander.
- The HTML Fragment that you receive must be placed in an easily viewed location within the same webpage that you have submitted to the webring. We're sorry but we do not have enough time to keep continually searching through every entire website to search for the HTML fragment. Also, The html code within the fragment must not be changed except for alignment purposes. In order to be part of this webring we ask that you also not become a webring collector! A webring collector is a person who subscribes to too many webrings. A couple are okay but please do not go overboard.
- Any medical or health advice provided on your website will only be given by trained and qualified professionals unless a clear statement is made that a piece of advice offered is from a non-medically qualified individual or organization.
- Your webpage, website, Company and/or staff agree to respect the confidentiality and privacy of all visitors to your webpage and/or website.
- The designers of your webpage and/or website will seek to provide information in the clearest possible manner and provide contact addresses for visitors that seek further information or support. The webmaster will display his/her emial address clearly throughout the website.
- Support for your webpage and/or website must be clearly identified, including the identities of commercial and non-commercial organizations that have contributed funding, services or material for the site.
- Audiotech Healthcare Corporation, HearingCenterOnline.com, and the Audiotech Hearing Impaired Web Ear Ring, do not assume any liability for the content of your webpage and/or website. Likewise, through the webring, we are not endorsing or advocating your product, service, or company in any way. You acknowledge, and will show clearly on your website, that the information and recommendations you present will be for help purposes only and that you will encourage (as do we) all visitors to consult a trained professional whether it be a physician, audiologist or otherwise.
- If advertising is a source of funding it will be clearly stated. A brief description of the advertising policy adopted by the website owners will be displayed on the site. Advertising and other promotional material will be presented to viewers in a manner and context that facilitates differentiation between it and the original material created by the institution operating the website.
- All webpages and/or websites should be backwards compatible to Netscape Navigator/Communicator Version 3 and Internet Explorer Version 3. This means that your site will work with either of these browsers. We also like to have websites that are WebTV compatible but this is not mandatory, however, we do receive in excess of 30-40 WebTV Visitors per day to the hearingcenteronline.com website so it may be worth it for you to make the consideration. Information for webmasters on WebTV design can be found at www.webtv.com..
Please note that the hearingcenteronline.com staff will keep an open mind with respect to website content. We do not intend to sensor the right to free speech other than controlling what we feel would offend the parents of younger visitors.
As an example, although some of our staff members dislike "hunting", we have still allowed Walker's Game Ear to join the webring because they have a good product for hearing impaired people who like to hunt.
We feel it is important that the ring be as diverse and interesting as possible with an acceptance of other cultures and beliefs. This only serves to benefit everyone more as the Web Ear Ring grows into a great resource for the hearing impaired. Thank you.
Yours Sincerely, HearingCenterOnline.com Staff
