An article for Web Site
Owners and Webmasters

Posting and distributing articles on the Internet is one of the best ways to attract traffic to your website. We've probably all heard it said that "information is king" but I don't think people know the real power behind it. This can make or break an online business and be the difference between no visitors to your website or thousands, perhaps even hundreds of thousands.

What am I talking about?

I am not talking about just putting information on your website, that's only one method of getting your name out there. It's more fundamental than that ... "help people", don't "sell them". By helping them, you will gain credibility and rapport with them. Let's face it, the Internet doesn't need any more snake oil salesmen. They want good, helpful information and inside knowledge.

Here's a thought ... most people don't log onto the Internet saying, "I'm going to buy a car online today!" Instead, I would suggest that they are more likely saying, "There is so much that I don't know. The best place for knowledge and information that might help me is on the Internet. So, I'll go and take a look for what's out there." Do you have knowledge and information that might help solve a problem for someone? Share it with them!

Here is why free articles are so important online:

You are just a website with a name ... there is no human that they can see, no one to shake a hand, no certificates on the wall, no store to walk into, no facial expressions to read when you are talking to someone, and so on. They only know you by the information you put out there ... and what makes you think that they should believe what you say and that you are not just full of it (whatever "it" may be)?

The Answer Relies on Distributing Free Articles!

You see, you PROVE to them that you are there to help. You are real! You have great information and knowledge to offer! This is how you build credibility and rapport with people. It's worth its weight in gold! Then, and only then, you have earned their respect and the privilege of having them as a visitor to your web site and potentially a customer.

You can publish useful information and articles at your website but what is even better is getting them published by other websites that have the same demographic as you. If you can get a high traffic website (such as HearingCenterOnline to publish your article on the web site and/or in the newsletter you are also gaining "third party" validation. It's almost like getting an unspoken endorsement. Just make sure that, no-matter who is publishing it, at the end of the article you get a link back to your site and if possible a biography.

By providing good information, people can see that you know what you're talking about and therefore they respect you. This creates credibility and lasting relationships.
