What's happening at Hearing Center Online? We have a lot of exciting things planned for Hearing Center Online over the next few months. And a lot of our ideas have come through your feedback to our site. Thank you for all the input. Take a look at what's up and coming at Hearing Center Online. These changes won't all take place tomorrow, but we'll have it done as soon as we can. Message board and Chat room! One of the things we hope to accomplish within the next 60 days is to add a new community message board and a chat room where people can meet and share their experiences. Some individuals trying to deal with their hearing loss, have said to us that some of the best help comes from those who have shared the same feelings, and experiences and have learned to deal with them effectively. Being able to consult an audiologist or other health care professional is great, but it would also be good to share your thoughts and feelings with someone who has been through it all. We feel that this message board will be a great way to foster the online community of the hearing impaired and give you guys a great way to share your stories and information and give support to each other. Closed Captioned Videos! We have a lot of video interviews and clips planned for the future ... but what good will that be, if you can't hear it? That's why we're working on captioning all future video and audio media as well as the existing stuff on our site. Keep your eyes peeled! Fresh Content! We are always looking for ways to improve our site and bring you updated news and information. In addition to the newsletter we will be working hard to bring you more articles and information for teachers and parents, more human touch stories (if you can help here we'd love it) and more information about hearing aids and other topics you've requested. We also want to continue to feature our monthly product spotlights in the newsletter, and our interviews with Dennis and Crackers about hearing dogs. If there is a product out there that you think is great or you would like us to feature, please let us know! New Look and Design No. We're not going to completely throw everything out and start over, but there will be a few major changes coming up. We strongly believe in designing our sites to be easily navigable. As Hearing Center Online continues to grow, it is time once again for a little spring (or in this case, fall) cleaning. We just want to make sure you'll be able to find everything! That's why we'll be databasing most of the content on our site and redesigning the main page a little to be more organized. Some of you told us that you like to print off the newsletter to give to your friends and family that are offline. That's great! To make it easier for you, we're also going to try and have a more ‘printable' version included with every article. Ms. Ears One of our ideas in improving the efficiency of Ms. Ears program was to compile more generalized questions and answers from all the existing questions and database them. Right now we get a lot of repeat questions from what is already posted on our site. Our thought is to redesign the Ms. Ears page so that you can enter your question into a form which will then search the database for a generic answer (mini-article). If this did not answer your question or your question was not in the database, you would have the option of sending it directly to Ms. Ears.
